Out of the Bedroom, Edinburgh’s longest running open mic night, will be taking over the open mic stage at The Meadows Festival in central Edinburgh on Saturday 7th June!
It is a FREE event and all are welcome. It will be our 4th year running the open mic and we hope to get the quality of weather, crowd and performers that we have had in the last three years.
Original music only, the live music will run from 11.30a.m. to 5.30p.m. You will have to be ready to sign up to play at one of the three specific signing-up slots:
11 – 11.25am (part 1)
1 – 1.25pm (part 2)
3 – 3.25pm (part 3)
There will be a PA with a house guitar, a house keyboard, four microphones and four DI boxes.
We hope to see you there. Bring the sunshine, if you can!

Key info for Saturday
- All songs must be original.
- Each act can only play once during the day.
- Each slot is 10 mins maximum (two songs each)
- On signing up, let the host know how many people will be playing and what the instruments will be.
- The stage is small so drum kits and amps are not permitted.
- There will be four mics and four instrument DI inputs available. For Out of the Bedroom there will be an electro acoustic guitar and electronic keyboard available.
- A maximum of 4 performers will be permitted on the stage at any one time.
- Instruments will be DI-ed into the sound desk please bring a Jack cable with you.
- Make sure that your instruments are tuned up before going on stage.
- Be ready to go on stage at least 15 minutes before your slot and leave the stage as quickly as possible.
- Do not plug in or unplug equipment until directed
- If you are not there for the start of your slot you will not be permitted to play and will not be able to rebook
- You are responsible for your own equipment – please label it clearly and never leave it unattended.
- Please take care when using the house equipment, you will be charged for any damage caused by misuse.
- Meadows Festival and Out of the bedroom accept no liability for any loss or damage to your equipment.
- The Meadows Festival is a family friendly community event: No strong language on the stage please.
- The festival is run entirely by Volunteers: abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.

Edinburgh College Students Talent Showcase at GLOW Stage
As part of the Artist Residency in Music Business at EC, Gaia Soul Events and Dual Beat are proud to present the Students Talent Showcase at the Edinburgh College GLOW Stage.
From 11:00am to 5:30pm, the GLOW Stage will come alive as Edinburgh College musicians take over sharing their creativity and passion in a series of 20 minute acoustic sets. Expect an eclectic mix of original songs and covers, performed by talented solo acts, duos and trios. We will have two scheduled breaks during the day that will give you time to explore the festival and enjoy the Meadows atmosphere before returning for more fantastic performances.
The day will wrap up with a relaxed jam session from 5:30pm where all performers are invited to share the stage and celebrate together
Join us at the GLOW Stage to mark the end of the academic year and welcome the summer with a day of inspiring performances from Edinburgh College emerging artists. Come and experience the energy and creativity that makes our music community so special. See you there!
