Shinty Sports Area
Shinty is back in the Meadows Festival Sports Area for 2026! Don’t miss out on an exciting men’s league game, primary league competition, community match, and mixed taster sessions. You can also get involved and try out the sport yourself, both adults and children taster sessions are taking place across the weekend..

Saturday
Information stall for adult and youth shinty in Edinburgh with Camanachd Dhùn Èideann and Tayforth Camanachd. Beat the keeper competition, free to enter, and prizes across age categories.
Taster sessions for all, women/men/girls/boys, with beginner skills and mini games.
10.30 am – 11 am Taster session (all ages)
11 am – 11.30 am Taster session (all ages)
11.30 am – 12 pm Taster session (all ages)

1.30 pm – 3.30 pm Men’s league game: Tayforth vs Uddingston
Sunday
Throughout the day – information stall for adult and youth shinty in Edinburgh with Camanachd Dhùn Èideann and Tayforth Camanachd.
Primary age group competition 11 am – 1.30 pm Central Scotland Youth Club.
2 pm – 3 pm Taster sessions (all ages welcome).
3 pm – 4 pm Community match (all welcome to participate).
